The Central Homicide Unit of the Hemet Police Department launched an investigation in a joint effort with the Coroner’s office Saturday after walkers discovered human remains in the unincorporated area of Gilman Springs Friday, sheriff’s officials said.
The remains were found 100 yards away from the roadway, a Riverside County Sheriff’s report said.
Deputies from the Hemet station responded and confirmed that the remains were human, according to Sgt. Tyson Voss.
No other details regarding the remains or a possible identity of the person were available at this time.
