An off-duty police officer fired his gun at three men who were assaulting him today, but no one was hit and the suspects were eventually arrested, a sheriff’s corporal said.
Sheriff’s deputies received a call at 10:15 a.m. from Saddlebrook and Red Maple lanes, where the officer fired his weapon once but hit no one, Riverside County sheriff’s Cpl. Robert Martinez said.
Martinez declined to release details about the officer-involved shooting but said it was under investigation and that all suspects had been arrested.
The off-duty officer escaped injury. Martinez did not disclose which agency the officer works at.
