The crash involved up to six vehicles, including a Honda Pilot, a blue hatchback and a black truck or SUV, and was reported about 2:45 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

One person who sustained “acute trauma” in the crash and one with lesser injuries were taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital, a San Diego Fire-Rescue Department dispatcher said.

Another injured person was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital, she said.

Three others who were involved in the crash declined to be taken to the hospital, the dispatcher said.

The crash was blocking the left lane and a SigAlert was issued, officials with the CHP said.

Eastbound traffic was backed up to Interstate 15.
