A self-described pimp charged with the deaths of three people in a Feb. 21 shooting and fiery crash on the Las Vegas strip had been expected to be extradited today to Nevada, but will instead remain in a Los Angeles jail for at least 10 more days.

Ammar Harris, 26, appeared before Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Shelly Torrealba, who granted his request for an identification hearing before any decision is made to extradite him to Las Vegas to face murder and other charges.
Public Defender Mearl Lottman said he could not comment on his client’s reasons for wishing to remain in Los Angeles.
Torrealba, who denied requests for cameras in the courtroom, set the hearing for March 14. Harris will be held without bail until then.
Harris, who authorities say has a lengthy criminal record, was arrested by federal and local law enforcement personnel last Thursday at an apartment complex in Studio City.
Harris was driving a Range Rover when he allegedly opened fire on Oakland-based rap artist Kenny Clutch, who was driving a Maserati. Harris and Clutch apparently got into an argument earlier at the Aria hotel and casino.
The fatally wounded Clutch crashed the Maserati into a cab that burst into flames, killing taxi driver Michael Boldon, 62, and passenger Sandra Sutton-Wasmund.
Three women who were in a Range Rover with Harris when the shooting occurred were interviewed and are not expected to be charged, according to Las Vegas police.
Boldon’s brother, who was in the courtroom today and spoke to reporters outside, described his sibling as “an honest, hardworking, God-fearing grandfather, brother, uncle.”
“This man has destroyed my family deeply,” Tehrah Boldon said of Harris.
