Police nab burglar in Palm Desert

A burglar with a warrant for a prior offense was arrested after getting caught robbing a mobile phone store in Palm Desert, it has been reported.

Deputies responded to a burglar alarm just before 2:30 a.m., this morning at the Boost Mobile Store located in the 44000 block of San Pablo Avenue in Palm Desert.

Cody Riddle, 19, of Palm Desert was spotted walking near the mobile store and detained by officers.

“Riddle had an outstanding warrant for burglary, and while being handcuffed a 9MM handgun was located on the ground just feet away from where he stood,” Sgt. Eichelt stated in a sheriff’s report.

A jacket belonging to Riddle, along with gloves and three phones were found near the store.

He was arrested and booked into a jail detention center on charges of burglary, carrying a loaded firearm, felon in possession of a firearm and probation violation.
