The Mt. San Jacinto College Student Economic Association will host a lecture presented by Dr. John Husing on March 7th at 1 p.m. in room 927 on the Menifee Valley Campus, located at 28237 La Piedra Rd., Menifee.
Mr. Husing is a research economist specializing in the study of Southern California’s growing economy.
He is also a leading authority on the impact of the goods movement industry on the region and in particular its role as a provider of upward economic mobility to blue collar workers.
His primary focus over 45 years has been the Inland Empire, studying the nature and growth of San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. His extensive study of the region has led to several economic strategies that combine a database of statistics with interviews of executives and entrepreneurs to understand the forces shaping Southern California.
In recent years, Dr. Husing has been a consultant to virtually every major governmental body in the inland region.
In that capacity, he has helped develop strategies for dealing with the major economic issues facing the respective jurisdictions as well as the region as a whole.
Because of his work at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, as well as within the inland area, Dr. Husing has developed a keen understanding of the economic, employment and infrastructure issues involved in Southern California’s logistics sector.
This event is free and open to the public.
