According to a Riverside County Sheriff’s press release, the woman was walking just before 3:30 p.m., Tuesday March 5 when a pitbull ran at her and began biting her.

People nearby came to her rescue and started hitting the dog with baseball bats in an effort to get the pitbull away from her.

The victim suffered numerous severe puncture wounds and was taken to a local hospital, Sgt. Rose McKinney said.

“Ramona Animal Control took possession of the dog,” Sgt. McKinney added.

Anyone with further details regarding this mauling is urged to contact the San Jacinto Police Department at 951-654-2702.

“I have my rights! I have my right to breed, sell and own the pit BULLY dog of my choice. I don’t care if pits were created to attack like this dog did, while off home territory, for no reason and to immediately do damage. I don’t care if pits are known “escape artists” and so put all my neighbors, both pets and people, at risk.

If you don’t want your dog killed by my pit, don’t own a dog! If you don’t want to be mauled while taking a walk, stay INDOORS! Understand this, I do not care about others. That’s why I proudly call my choice of dog a “BULLY”. Now, if you made me spay/neuter my dog, I probably wouldn’t own a pit bull, because I choose to own a pit for the vicarious power, virility and aggression I receive from my bully. I don’t have a pit as my pet, my pit is a weapon. See, my weapon just worked.” signed, the pit bully owner.

  • Time to ban the breed. Their powerful jaws set them apart from other dogs.

  • This is the third attack in Riverside this county this year (that’s been reported by the media) and it’s only March.
