An 8-year-old boy was struck by an unlicensed driver as he was crossing the street in San Jacinto yesterday, according to Riverside County Sheriff’s officials.
The boy was riding his bike just before 3:30 p.m., Tuesday March 5 on Seventh Avenue and entered the crosswalk at Mistletoe Avenue when a car hit him.
Sgt. Himmelberg reported that the boy was taken to a nearby hospital for minor injuries.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident, however, the driver was ticketed for driving without a license.
