A Beaumont woman wanted in the murder of her roommate was arrested today in Simi Valley, a city spokeswoman said.
Vanessa Kathleen Fierro, 30, was arrested just before 2:30 a.m. in the 1900 block of Stowe Street by Beaumont police, backed up by Simi Valley officers, and booked in Banning on suspicion of murder, Beaumont spokeswoman Darci Mulvihill said.
Fierro, whose bail was set at $1 million, became a “person of interest” in the death of her roommate when a coroner’s investigator termed it a homicide.
Authorities were withholding the victim’s name.
She was said to be 44-years-old when she was found dead Feb. 28 at her home in the 200 block of West Seventh Street.
Police said someone they described as a friend asked them to check on Fierro because she had not seen or heard in several days.
