Flames tore through an eight-unit Jurupa Valley apartment building today and left eight adults and three children homeless but no injuries were reported, a fire spokeswoman said.
Dispatchers received a 911 call at 6:51 a.m. and sent firefighters to the 3100 block of Rubidoux Boulevard where flames were seen coming through a roof, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson said.
A damage estimate was not immediately known but Hendrickson said the second-alarm fire scorched all the apartments.
The fire was doused by 7:19 a.m., and its cause remained under investigation.
Firefighters expected to remain at the apartment building for several hours to salvage whatever they can and for clean-up.
The American Red Cross was called to help the eight adults and three children find temporary shelter, Hendrickson said.
