A person suffered mild to moderate injuries when they drove their vehicle off the side of the Escondido (215) Freeway at Highway 74, in Perris, and it rolled down the embankment, causing the person to have to be extricated by Riverside County firefighters, a fire department spokeswoman said.
The accident was reported at 1:45 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol, which was investigating the accident.
“First arriving engine company reported a vehicle upside down in a ravine,” said Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson.
The driver was extricated from the vehicle at 3:25 a.m., Hendrickson said.
As of 3:36 a.m., ”The solo patient will be transported to an area hospital via ground ambulance with mild to moderate injuries,” she said.
