Occupant injured in Moreno Valley house fire

A fire that broke out today in a Moreno Valley home left one person injured and damaged a room before crews got it under control.

The blaze was reported around 3 p.m. in the 24100 block of Finley Drive, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Four engine crews and two truck companies, numbering around 20 personnel, were sent to battle the fire, which they encountered inside a room of the single-story residence, a fire department spokeswoman said.

Two residents were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation. One of the victims was transported to a hospital, according to the fire department.

Crews prevented the flames from spreading beyond the room and had the blaze fully contained in 20 minutes.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
