A 12-year-old boy who made a prank call that sent police swarming to the Hollywood Hills home of actor Ashton Kutcher admitted today making a false bomb threat and committing computer intrusion.

In addition to the hoax 911 call made on Oct. 3 about Kutcher’s home, the boy — whose name was withheld because of his age — had also been charged with making a similar report that sent police to singer Justin Bieber’s Calabasas home Oct. 10.

A misdemeanor charge of making a false emergency report about Bieber’s home is expected to be dismissed when the boy is sentenced, along with felony counts of making a false bomb threat and computer intrusion involving a bank, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
Juvenile Court Judge Christina Hill transferred the boy’s case to his home county for sentencing and restitution.
Prosecutors would not divulge where the boy lives, and a sentencing date was not immediately set.
The boy was released to his parents pending sentencing.
A number of hoax calls, known as “swatting” because they lead to large-scale responses by police and sometimes a SWAT team, have been made in recent months involving the homes of celebrities such as Tom Cruise and Miley Cyrus, as well as the Playboy Mansion.
