San Diego: Power outage leaves 2,400 in the dark

Nearly 2,400 San Diego Gas & Electric customers near San Diego’s Lindbergh Field lost power early today but most were without electricity for only about an hour, the utility reported.

The outage began at 4:06 a.m. and affected parts of Ocean Beach, the Midway District, Old Town, Mission Hills and Hillcrest, according to SDG&E’s website.

Lindbergh Field was not blacked out.

By around 5 a.m., power was restored to all but 486 customers.

The utility estimated the outage would be fully resolved by about 8:30 a.m.

The cause was under investigation.
