Riverside County and U.S. Forest Service firefighters fought a seven-acre wildfire in the Pinyon area this afternoon.
The blaze was reported about 2:30 p.m. north of highways 74 and 371 and was burning at a moderate rate, but no structures were threatened, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Jody Hagemann said.
The fire was 70 percent contained by 5 p.m. and firefighters were expected to be at the scene for the next four to five hours, Hagemann said.
There was no immediate word on what sparked the blaze.
