The Orange County Coroner’s Office today identified a 58-year-old bicyclist who was fatally struck by a motorist in Mission Viejo.

Eric Billings, a resident of Rancho Santa Margarita, died at 6:48 p.m., Friday March 15 at the scene of the crash on Santa Margarita Parkway, north of Los Alisos Boulevard.
Billings was struck by a 2003 Acura driven by Hast Fakhrai-Bayrooti, a 39-year-old man, said Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Joe Balicki.
”This is an ongoing investigation,” Balicki said, adding that it was not immediately known if Fakhrai-Bayrooti was cited or arrested.
