Thousand Palms: Motorcyclist hit by SUV, dies

A motorcyclist who was struck by a sport utility vehicle at a Thousand Palms intersection and later died of his injuries has been publicly identified by the Riverside County coroner’s office.

William Rivers, 56, of Thousand Palms, was riding his motorcycle Thursday at Thelma Avenue and Datil Way when he the SUV struck him, according to the coroner’s office.

The crash was at 12:39 p.m, Thursday March 14.

Rivers was taken to the Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, where he died at 11:40 a.m., Friday, coroner’s officials reported.

    Manslaughter charge, I hope.
    Regardless of what type of helmet a person wears, when some idiot RUNS a stop sign, they should be arrested and charged in the event of that victims death.
