Menifee checkpoint nabs two suspected drunken drivers

Two motorists were arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and four vehicles were towed during an overnight sobriety checkpoint in Menifee, a police sergeant said today.

Three other motorists were arrested or cited for other offenses during the checkpoint at McCall Boulevard and Winged Foot Drive that began at 7 p.m. Saturday and ended today at 3 a.m., said Menifee police Sgt. Sergio Rodriguez.

One motorist was arrested for an outstanding felony auto theft warrant and two additional drivers were arrested on other criminal charges.

Two drivers were cited or arrested for operating a vehicle unlicensed and one driver was cited for operating a vehicle with a suspended or revoked license, Rodriguez said.
