Palm Springs police asked for the public’s help today in solving three possibly related cases of people damaging pot shops.
Someone in gray Honda Accord reported stolen in Cathedral City “intentionally backed into” Holistic Collective at 2235 N. Palm Canyon Drive about 2:10 a.m. Monday, damaging the building and fleeing, Palm Springs police Sgt. Mike Kovaleff said.
Similar crimes happened March 3 and March 8 at Desert Valley Treatment at 576 Williams Road.
Someone driving a white Honda Accord, also reported stolen in Cathedral City, backed the car into into the shop on March 3 about 5:05 p.m., then fled in the car, Kovaleff said.
Then on March 8 about 4:35 a.m., someone backed the same car into the dispensary, then tried to light the car on fire, dousing it with a flammable liquid, he said.
That suspect was described as a white or Hispanic man, in his late teens to mid 20s, wearing a light-colored baseball cap with a dark brim, a dark, hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and black-and-white shoes.
Anyone with more information about the crimes was asked to call Detective Marcus Litch at 760-323-8140 or Coachella Valley Crime Stoppers at 760- 341-7867.
