Suspicious packages prompt evacuation of Palm Springs Art Museum

The Palm Springs Art Museum was evacuated today because of two `”suspicious packages” found there, police said.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Hazardous Device Team was called in, and Museum Drive was closed between Tahquitz Canyon Way and the museum’s north parking lot, Palm Springs police Sgt. Mike Kovaleff said.

The finds were reported at 12:25 p.m. — one package was found in the museum and the other outside, Kovaleff said.
