About 10 a.m. hundreds of Brown Berets and counter protestors had lined up along the east side of Madison Street and Indiana Avenue in Riverside. A small group of neo-Nazis dressed in dark clothing emerged from a side street.
Almost immediately, some of the counter demonstrators rushed across the street and confronted the Nazi group, sending officers scurrying to separate the two groups. Within moments, the screaming and finger-pointing escalated and a temporary barricade that separated the two sides was knocked down.
The fighting started.
A brawl between the two broke out and with powerful blows, rocks were sent flying through the air and aluminum cans were launched. Some of the Brown Berets and neo-Nazis were throwing punches and shoving each other.
Police in riot gear quickly swarmed the area and separated the two sides.
One man was arrested after the scuffle, which lasted less than two minutes. There appeared to be no injuries.
The man was not identified by police, but a spokeswoman said he was booked on suspicion of inciting a riot and taken away. No other arrests have been made.
Sgt. Jaybee Brennan said the goal of police is to allow both sides to express themselves, but keep them from hurting each other.
Brennan said police met with representatives of both sides before the protest and each agreed to abide by some ground rules.
She declined to say how many officers are assigned to the protest.

Seriously? There is nothing better these neo-nazis can do with their time. Thank you to all of the counter-protestor spending their time dealing with those people.
