Murrieta woman arrested after argument ends in stabbing
Murrieta Police officers responded to the 24000 block of Madison Avenue about 11:30 a.m. regarding a fight in progress.
A 48-year-old Murrieta woman was arrested Saturday after an argument between two women ended with one of them stabbed, Sgt. Jon Flavin said in a news release.
Murrieta Police officers responded to the 24000 block of Madison Avenue about 11:30 a.m. regarding a fight in progress and information that one of the parties in the fight was possibly armed with a knife, Flavin said.
Officers found one victim at the scene – a female was bleeding and had a laceration above her left ear, Flavin said. The suspect had left prior to officers arriving on scene. An investigation was conducted and the suspect, Teri Scott, was identified, Flavin said.
Both Scott and the victim were acquaintances and were at the location to perform a child custody exchange, Flavin said. While at the location an argument ensued and Scott produced the knife and swung it at the victim several times, causing the injuries, Flavin said. The children that were on scene for the exchange were also put in harm’s way while Scott was swinging the knife.
Scott was contacted at her residence in Murrieta a short time later and was taken into custody. Scott was booked on suspicion of attempted murder and child endangerment and take to the Southwest Detention Center.
