Lake Elsinore police searching for man who tried to entice girls into his vehicle
Deputies were called to the area of Broadway and Clement streets regarding a Hispanic man who attempted to lure two female juveniles into his vehicle about 7 p.m.
Police are looking for a man who tried to entice two girls into his vehicle over the weekend in Lake Elsinore, Sgt. Patrick Chavez said in a news release.
On Saturday, deputies were called to the area of Broadway and Clement streets regarding a Hispanic man who attempted to lure two female juveniles into his vehicle about 7 p.m., Chavez said.
The description provided of the suspect by the girls does not match that of the man who is suspected in a series of incidents in the Lake Elsinore and Wildomar areas. The vehicle does not match the small, compact car the man has been seen driving.
The suspect approached both girls - ages 9 and 10 — and told them to come to him. The children ran to a nearby apartment complex and hid in a laundry room. After a few minutes passed, Chavez said, they did not see the man and started walking home.
As they were walking home they saw the same man loading boxes into his vehicle. As the children walked by, the man held out his hand as if he was holding something and asked the girls if they wanted some, Chavez said.
Both girls ran home and told their parents.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic, in his 40’s, with black/gray hair wearing a black beanie, black t-shirt, blue jeans and sporting a mustache, Chavez said. The man had a “Skull” tattoo on right forearm and an “Eagle” tattoo on his right bicep. The suspect also had acne scars on his face, Chavez said.
The man’s vehicle was a newer white panel van with blacked out front windows and a partial plate of “4H”.
