Restaurants all over town are promoting sweetheart specials in honor of Valentine’s Day. For those who haven’t booked their reservations yet, check out these delicious deals in and around the heart of Southwest Riverside’s historic Old Town Temecula. Something here is bound to whet the appetite:
How about Deconstructed Nicoise Salad or Slow Roasted Long Island Duck Soup? Those are just the first-course selections at The Edge restaurant in Old Town Temecula. Next on the menu is French Butter Pear and Thyme Granité, and save room for the entrée: Grilled Sous Vide of Veal Loin, or Pistachio Crusted Loeal Halibut, or Braised Bone-In Beef Short Rib. The not-to-be-missed dessert includes Fallen Bittersweet Chocolate Soufflé for two. Cost is $75 per guest; $110 with wine pairings (Gloria Ferrer, Blanc de Noir, Sonoma). Menu options at The Gambling Cowboy Chophouse and Saloon in Old Town Temecula are extensive on Valentine’s Day, but don’t miss their Dinner for Two specials: A tender 11 oz. Filet Mignon broiled to order and served with Center-Cut King Crab Legs, Lobster Tail, Lemon Parmesan Risotto and Fresh Asparagus with Hollandaise ($110). Or opt for the 48 oz. Porterhouse for two broiled to order and served with Vermont White Cheddar Whipped Potatoes and Fresh Asparagus with Hollandaise ($80). Call for reservations: 951-699-2895.
Chef Torres has created a special Valentine’s Day menu over at Baily’s in Old Town Temecula that lovers are sure to enjoy. Whether it’s casual dining downstairs or a more elegant affair upstairs, the same menu will be served in both restaurants and includes an appetizer option of Smoked Duck Spring Rolls, Shrimp Salad, or Wild Mushroom Napoleon. Soup or salad choices comprise Butternut Squash Soup, Corn and Crab Chowder, Caesar Salad, or Butterleaf and Radicchio Salad. The featured entrees, which are served with Twice-baked Potato and Sauteed Vegetables, include Mediterranean Stuffed Chicken, Portobello En Croute, Baked Salmon, Pork Tenderloin, or Filet Mignon. For dessert choose between Creme Brulee, Flourless Chocolate Torte, or White Chocolate and Raspberry Bread Pudding. $65 per person. Call 951-676-9567 to make reservations.
Couples looking to celebrate Valentine’s Day in style or in a casual atmosphere will find it a stone’s throw away from Old Town Temecula at Pechanga Resort & Casino. Choose between specially prepared menus at five different Pechanga restaurants:
* Great Oak Steakhouse offers a quiet ambiance and candlelit tables, perfect for parties of two. Chef Chris O’Connell will present a four-course Valentine’s Day dinner featuring a main-course choice of either Crabmeat Crusted Sea Bass or Savory Herb Bours in Crusted Bam Loin. $65 per person. * The soft candlelight glow inside Paisano’s Italian greets guests with the warmth of a Tuscan village. Chef Shawn Thaden will artfully prepare a three-course Valentine meal in the exhibition kitchen. Main-course choices include Osso Bucco Ravioli or Sautéed Branzino. $45 per person. * The unique under-the-sea setting of the Seafood Grotto is an enchanting setting to enjoy a meal inspired by the freshest ocean fare. Chef Kevin Hendrickson will present a three-course meal with a main-course choice of either Filet Mignon Oscar or Herb Crusted Chilean Sea Bass. $55 per person. * The sports pub ambiance at Kelsey’s greets diners with casual elegance. Chef Javier Castro has a three-course meal for Valentine’s Day featuring a choice between Filet Mignon prepared with Lobster and Asparagus Risotto, or Shrimp Scampi served with Linguini Pasta, Asparagus with Lemon Caper Sauce. $45 per person. * Café Pechanga has a relaxed and casual atmosphere where diners can enjoy a special three-course meal presented by Chef Ken Haselwood. The starters are soup or salad followed by a New York Strip Steak coupled with Prawns. The final course brings the meal to a sweet ending with Chocolate Cake and Vanilla Ice Cream topped with Raspberry Sauce. $24.95 per person. Open 24 hours; 951-693-1819.

The Edge is serving their Valentine’s menu on both Saturday and Sunday, and saxophonist Naomi Balcombe will perform from 6-9pm.
