Authorities: Lake Elsinore man hangs self while in custody at SW Dentention Center

A 31-year-old Lake Elsinore man apparently hanged himself while in custody at the Southwest Detention Center, according to a posting from the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner Web site.

James Hall was pronounced dead at 7:20 a.m. Saturday at Rancho Springs Medical Center in Murrieta, according to the Web site. Hall hanged himself at an unknown time on Friday. Hall was in custody after being arrested on a burglary charge, said Deputy Melissa Nieburger, spokesman for the department. The detention center is located in French Valley just north of Murrieta.

The death is being investigated by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
