Rain, thunderstorms expected to hit Southwest Riverside
Showers may hit the area after 10 a.m. Tuesday, forecasters said, with heavy showers and possible thunderstorms and hail Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning.

While the weekend’s storm brought in more than an inch of rain to some Southwest Riverside cities, another few inches are anticipated to fall with Tuesday and Wednesday’s expected storm, said forecasters from the National Weather Service in San Diego.
Showers may hit the area after 10 a.m. Tuesday, forecasters said, with heavy showers and possible thunderstorms and hail Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning.
According to National Weather Service rainfall totals, Temecula received 1.65 inches of rain from the weekend’s storm, with Hemet’s fall totaling slightly more than one inch.
The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a winter storm watch for Riverside County mountain areas through Wednesday afternoon since heavy snowfall is possible.
In the San Jacinto Mountains, snowfall amounts are expected to range from 8-to-20 inches between elevations of 3,500 and 6,500 feet and more than three feet of snow at elevations above 7,000 feet, forecasters said.
