A number of streets will be also closed down to accommodate the races and the crowds, necessitating the Saturday closure, according to Loretta McKinney, library director.

The Murrieta library will be closed Saturday because of the two-day Tour de Murrieta bicycle race, officials said today.

An exposition and childrens races will take place the first day of the event, which will be centered in downtown Murrieta.

A number of streets will be closed down to accommodate the races and the crowds, necessitating the Saturday closure, according to Loretta McKinney, library director.

Saturday’s races are sponsored by Pacific Western Bank and the registration cost for the kids’ races will be a can of food.

Following the children’s races, the Grand Prix for adults will take place.

On Sunday, there will be a circuit race, which will entail riding 10 or more laps equaling between 35 and 60 miles, depending on the category in which the riders are racing.
