Southwest Riverside residents warned of increased noise levels on Camp Pendleton

Camp Pendleton units will be conducting a battalion firing exercise, firing high-explosives munitions into the Whiskey and Zulu impact areas from 6 a.m. until midnight March 16 - 19, as part of artillery training.

Murrieta residents who live on the western edge of the city, as well as residents living in incorporated areas on the western edge of the County line, are being advised of increased noise levels from Camp Pendleton.

Camp Pendleton units will be conducting a battalion firing exercise, firing high-explosives munitions into the Whiskey and Zulu impact areas from 6 a.m. until midnight March 16 – 19, as part of artillery training.


Depending on atmospheric conditions, Camp Pendleton officials warn the sound of firing may be amplified and heard up to 50 miles away.
