In response to the workplace’s need for individuals who are trained in the business and science of biotechnology and healthcare information technology, California State University San Marcos at Temecula will host free information sessions.
Students can learn about the Biotechnology Laboratory Technician Certificate program, the Professional Science Master’s in Biotechnology (PSMBt), and the Healthcare Information Technology Certificate.
Three sessions are planned: 6 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 1, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 4, and 6 to 9 p.m. on Aug.9 at CSU San Marcos at Temecula, located at 43890 Margarita Rd. in Temecula.
The PSMBt is a two-year course of study that prepares students for a career in the business and industry of biotechnology. A cohort-based system allows students to progress through a predetermined course sequence together, ensuring that they finish on-time and on-budget.
The Biotech Lab certificate program consists of five courses offered in the evenings. It is designed to provide students with the necessary skills to obtain entry-level positions in the biotech field and is also offered on a cohort-basis.
The CSUSM Healthcare Information Technology (HIT) Certificate program provides participants the knowledge needed to manage evolving HIT systems for healthcare providers, insurers, government agencies, play sponsors, support and training associations and new ventures.
