The Temecula Valley Winegrowers Association wants to know why you love Temecula Valley wine country. In fact, they are so eager to know that they are offering residents a chance at $4,000 in cash and prizes to tell them.
Imagine $2,500 cash in your pocket, plus a weekend getaway in wine country to include:
- Two-night stay in the Inn at Europa Village
- Dinner for two at Vineyard Rose at South Coast Winery Resort & Spa
- Hot air balloon ride for two with California Dreamin’ Adventures
- Transportation aboard Grapeline Wine Country Shuttle
- Vouchers for two tickets to any TVWA-sponsored event October 1, 2012 – September 30, 2013
“We are looking for videos, slide shows or mixed media projects that are less than two minutes in length,” said TVWGA representative Sienna Spencer-Markles. “The prizes will be awarded based on the number of votes each video receives, so we are absolutely encouraging creativity.”
“Think genre piece, perhaps,” she went on to say. “Comedy, western, or even animation would be fun.”
Entrants are encouraged to grab their smart phones and just go for it.
“Keep it simple,” Spenser-Markles advised. “A video clip, some still shots and a little background music make for a great submission.
Those seeking a variety of images to include in their video are welcome to download anything they like from the Association’s Flickr Image Library: http://flic.kr/s/aHsjzzuCUC
The contest was originally scheduled to end on August 31, but with so much going on in wine country throughout September, the deadline has been extended to September 30.
“September is California Wine Month, so it made sense to extend the contest though the celebrations we have planned,” said Spenser-Markles. “CRUSH, in particular, brings thousands (of visitors) through wine country. We hope everyone brings their cameras and creativity.”
Contest guidelines and rules can be found HERE and contestants are encouraged to submit early to maximize exposure and subsequent votes.
Temecula Valley Winegrower’s Association Executive Director Peggy Evans is excited about the contest and hopes that both locals and visitors will get in on the action.
Evans said: “We’re looking forward to some great entries that will hopefully express the fun, facts and folks in our fabulous wine country.”
