The Metropolitan Transportation Authority has created an official countdown to the Sept. 28 closure of the San Diego (405) Freeway over the Sepulveda Pass on its website.

Ramps along the 10-mile route will shut down as early as 7 p.m. on Sept. 28 and lanes will all be closed by 10 p.m. to make sure the full closure occurs by midnight. (Flickr: biofriendly)
“Countdown to the Closure II” consists of a banner ad and an online clock counting down the number of days, hours, minutes and seconds before the closure as a reminder to “Plan Ahead, Avoid the Area, or Eat, Shop and Play Locally” in order to avoid significant congestion.
It can be found at metro.net/I-405.
