Temecula Valley Unified School District students in the fifth, seventh, ninth and eleventh grades will take the California Healthy Kids Survey later this month.
Survey results will provide TVUSD with information regarding student attitudes towards drug, alcohol and tobacco use.
The survey asks questions about bullying, violence, student perception of campus safety, school and community connection, and other important issues facing our community’s youth. A component for military families will also be included.
The surveys are available for review at the following web link: California Healthy Kids Sample Survey.
Students in the fifth grade must have their parents’ permission to take the survey. Students in the seventh, ninth and eleventh grades will take the survey unless their parents return a permission letter requesting that they opt out. Letters for survey participation will go home in February. A student’s participation is voluntary and all responses are anonymous.
Results of this survey will be available in the spring. These results are used to improve programs and identify student health and safety needs. Results of previous surveys are available on the web link provided above.
