Corona man arrested on narcotics charges after traffic enforcement stop

Police arrested a Corona man for allegedly driving with a suspended license and for being in possession of narcotics and narcotic paraphernalia at about 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16  at the intersection of Temescal Canyon Road and Indian Truck trail in Glen Ivy, according to sheriff’s officials. lak13-0216-photo

Jon Thomas, 49, of Lake Elsinore was stopped by law enforcement officials for an equipment violation on his vehicle, according to a Riverside County sheriff’s report.

After stopping Thomas, police determined that he had been driving the vehicle with a suspended license and arrested him, Sgt. David Cardoza said.

Officers also found that Thomas also had narcotics, narcotic paraphernalia and a digital scale within his vehicle, the report said.

Thomas was transported to the Southwest Detention Center and was charged with the sale and transportation of a controlled substance and commission of a felony offense while out on bail.
