A dispute over loud music led a San Jacinto man to attack his roommate with a knife, inflicting several superficial wounds, a police sergeant said today.

Javier Victor Hernandez, 20, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and booked at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning, officials said.

The attack was reported at about 6:08 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of Evans Street, said Sgt. Rose McKinney of the San Jacinto Police Department.

Although numerous, the wounds suffered by the victim were not life-threatening, she said.
