Temecula: Police arrest 32-year-old man for attempted murder

Police arrested a 32-year-old man on charges of attempted murder Saturday, after responding to an accidental shooting call in the unincorporated section of Temecula, according to sheriff’s officials.

The incident occurred at about 4:11 p.m. in the 31700 block of Umbria Lane.

The suspect, Shawn Steward, had been in an argument with a female during a party at the residence, a Riverside County Sheriff’s report said.

During the argument, the victim was shot one time, said Sgt. Kevin McDonald.

The victim was transported to a local hospital via ambulance, according to McDonald.
