BC.Game and BetMGM both show up in “major online gambling brands” conversations, but they are built on almost nothing in common. BetMGM is a joint venture between a Las Vegas casino operator and a London-listed gambling group, licensed state by state in the US. BC.Game is a crypto-first casino and sportsbook that has already been through one operator bankruptcy involving unpaid player winnings, and it does not let US players sign up at all — before or after that bankruptcy.

Is BC.Game or BetMGM Legal in the US?
BetMGM answers with a map: 23 states plus Washington D.C. as of September 2026, each one a separate state license, with Oregon and Washington requiring bettors to be physically present at a partner casino. BC.Game doesn't have a US map to check at all — the United States sits on its restricted-jurisdiction list alongside the UK, France, and the Netherlands, and the one workaround that briefly existed, a sweepstakes-model spinoff called BCGame.us, was discontinued in 2026. There is currently no BC.Game product open to American players, full stop.
The bankruptcy is the part most comparisons skip. BC.Game's original operating entities, BlockDance B.V. and Small House B.V., were declared bankrupt in November 2024 after claims brought on behalf of players over more than $2.1 million in withheld winnings. The brand re-emerged a month later under a new operator and a lighter-touch Comoros-based licensor. BetMGM has no equivalent episode on its record.
Is BC.Game or BetMGM More Legit?
BetMGM's legitimacy is verifiable through two public companies — MGM Resorts International, tied to decades of Las Vegas properties, and Entain, the London-listed group behind Ladbrokes and Coral — plus a named state regulator in every market where it operates. The joint venture posted roughly $2.8 billion in net revenue in 2025, its record year. BC.Game's legitimacy has to be weighed against its own recent history: nine years online and a large game library on one side, a bankruptcy tied directly to unpaid player balances less than two years ago on the other.
How Safe Is Each One?
In a live BetMGM state, safety comes from a named state gaming regulator that can fine or delicense the operator, geolocation that enforces the state line, and standard tools like deposit limits and self-exclusion. BC.Game currently runs under an Anjouan Gaming Authority license — lighter-touch than the Curaçao regime it left in December 2024, itself already a lower bar than any US state commission. Its crypto-only banking also means no card network or bank to dispute a withheld payout through, the same structural gap that left 2024's BC.Game claimants waiting on a bankruptcy filing before seeing any resolution.
Which One For Who
In a licensed BetMGM state, this isn't close: a regulated sportsbook backed by a Las Vegas casino operator's name beats an offshore casino a US reader can't even sign up for. In a BetMGM-dark state, BC.Game still isn't the fallback — it blocks the US regardless of what any individual state has licensed. Outside the US, BC.Game is a real option for crypto-comfortable players who have weighed its 2024 bankruptcy and lighter licensor against its scale; BetMGM, outside its licensed states, mostly isn't reachable at all. Treat either one as entertainment, not income — 21+ where BetMGM is licensed, and not an option at all for a US player on BC.Game.
