Fanatics Georgia does not mean a sportsbook — there is no licensed Fanatics Sportsbook or Fanatics Casino a Peach State resident can open, and the 2026 legislative session's one real attempt to change that failed by more than fifty votes. But "Fanatics" is not actually absent from Georgia the way it is in, say, a state with zero company presence at all. Two other Fanatics products already operate here, and neither one is a workaround for the missing sportsbook.
Is Fanatics Legal in Georgia?
No, and the margin was not close. Georgia's constitution prohibits commercial gambling except for the state lottery, a carve-out voters created in a 1992 amendment. House Bill 910 tried to use that existing lottery authority to license up to 18 mobile sportsbooks through the Georgia Lottery Corporation, avoiding the need for a fresh constitutional amendment and statewide vote. House leadership still treated the bill as touching the constitutionally protected lottery, which meant it needed a two-thirds supermajority — 120 of 180 votes — to pass. It got 63. The bill failed 63-98 on the House floor on Crossover Day, March 6, 2026. A parallel attempt at an online casino, Senate Resolution 131, explicitly left online gaming out of its text and was voted down in Senate committee the same session.
Two Fanatics products are genuinely live in Georgia right now, and neither is the sportsbook: Fanatics Markets, a federally regulated prediction-contract app, launched here on December 9, 2025. And Fanatics has run e-commerce for the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United FC since a 2016 retail partnership with AMB Sports and Entertainment, the teams' parent company.
Fanatics Markets: A Real App, a Different Legal Theory
Fanatics Markets lets a Georgia resident trade contracts on sports outcomes, award shows, and other events — the mechanics feel close to betting, but the legal structure is not a state gaming license. It runs through an NFA-registered introducing-broker subsidiary Fanatics acquired in 2025 and an exchange partnership with Crypto.com, placing it under federal commodities oversight instead of Georgia gambling law. That is the same lane Kalshi and Polymarket's US arm use, and it is why the app can legally operate in a state where the sportsbook categorically cannot.
The Falcons Deal Predates the Sportsbook by Years
Long before Fanatics Betting and Gaming existed as a sportsbook company, AMB Sports and Entertainment named Fanatics its long-term retail partner for the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United FC, and Mercedes-Benz Stadium in a 2016 deal — team-store e-commerce and in-stadium merchandise, not wagering. Fanatics gear on a Falcons fan at Mercedes-Benz Stadium is a retail licensing fact that has nothing to do with whether sports betting is legal in Georgia, and it is not.
Who It Fits
Right now, nobody looking for a Georgia sportsbook — that product does not exist here and HB 910's failure makes a 2026 launch impossible. Adults who already shop Falcons or Atlanta United gear through Fanatics, or who want to try the federally regulated Fanatics Markets app, have a genuine product to use. Anything claiming to be real-money Fanatics Sportsbook betting from a Georgia address is not telling the truth. Betting, where it is legal, is entertainment, not income. 1-800-GAMBLER.
