BetMGM Arkansas isn't a smaller version of the sportsbook that runs in 23 other states — it's not running at all. The gap isn't about regulators blocking BetMGM by name. It's that Arkansas makes national brands wait to be picked, and so far, none of the state's four casinos has picked BetMGM.
Eight Possible Slots, Two Filled
Amendment 100 — the constitutional amendment voters approved 54-46% in November 2018 as Issue 4 — named four casinos allowed to offer sports wagering: Oaklawn in Hot Springs, Southland in West Memphis, Saracen in Pine Bluff, and a fourth property in Pope County. Arkansas Racing Commission rules let each of those four contract with up to two mobile sportsbook vendors, with the casino keeping at least 51% of the revenue from each deal. Do the math and that's a theoretical ceiling of eight national-brand slots statewide. As of this writing, exactly two are filled.
Who actually holds a slot: Oaklawn paired with FanDuel; Southland paired with DraftKings. Both deals were approved by the Arkansas Racing Commission on February 26, 2026, and the mobile product launched March 20, 2026. Saracen runs its own in-house app, BetSaracen, instead of a national vendor. Legends Resort & Casino, the Pope County property awarded to Cherokee Nation Entertainment, was still tied up in construction and legal challenges as of 2026 and has no sportsbook of any kind operating yet — so its two slots aren't even on offer.
Is BetMGM Legit? The 23-State Résumé Says Yes
None of this reflects on whether BetMGM is a trustworthy operator. It's a 50/50 joint venture between MGM Resorts International, a Nasdaq-listed casino company, and Entain, a London-listed gambling group, holding real sportsbook licenses in 23 states plus D.C. Arkansas just hasn't handed BetMGM one of its limited vendor seats — a structural outcome, not a judgment on the brand.
How Safe Is It to Look for BetMGM in Arkansas?
There's nothing running to secure. BetMGM's geolocation system would reject an Arkansas login the same way it rejects any address outside its licensed footprint, because there is no Arkansas license behind it. The practical danger for an Arkansas reader is a knockoff site or app borrowing the BetMGM name — the real operator simply has no presence here to log into.
What Arkansas Bettors Get Instead
FanDuel through Oaklawn and DraftKings through Southland are the only two national mobile brands live in the state, plus Saracen's own BetSaracen app running independent of any outside vendor. All of it operates under in-person-only rules for amateur and in-state college events, and none of it extends to online casino games — Amendment 100 never created that market. A 23-state brand like BetMGM can make Arkansas's menu look thin by comparison, but thin isn't the same as unregulated; the three products running here answer to the same Racing Commission either way.
Who It Fits
Nobody, yet — not as a BetMGM product. Arkansas bettors 21+ already have two national mobile sportsbooks and one in-house app to choose from; BetMGM isn't a third option unless Saracen or Legends Resort & Casino eventually names it a vendor. Treat any legal sportsbook as entertainment spending, not income. 1-800-GAMBLER is free and confidential.
