Fanatics is not legal in the Netherlands, and that part isn't a surprise — Fanatics Betting and Gaming has no regulated betting product anywhere in Europe. What makes the Dutch page different from Germany, France, or Italy is the other half of the business. Fanatics the retailer has struck national-federation and club deals across most of Western Europe. As far as public reporting shows, none of that dealmaking has reached the Netherlands either.
Is Fanatics Legal in the Netherlands? No License, No Application
The Netherlands has licensed online gambling under the Remote Gambling Act (Koa) since the regulated market opened October 1, 2021, with the Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) as the sole regulator for online casino, sports betting, and poker. Fanatics Betting and Gaming does not appear on the KSA's published operator list, and has never applied for one. Its sportsbook stays geofenced to 23 US states plus D.C.; its casino product reaches just four of those states. Neither touches the Netherlands, or anywhere else in Europe.
Is Fanatics legal in the Netherlands? No. There is no KSA license under the Fanatics name, and the only international betting move Fanatics has disclosed is a UAE joint venture — not a European one.
Where Fanatics Retail Has Shown Up in Europe — and Where It Hasn't
Separate from betting, Fanatics runs a real European retail business: e-commerce and fan-shop rights with Germany's DFB since 2019 (extended through the 2026 World Cup), a retail partnership with the French Football Federation, and deals with England's FA and Belgium's RBFA. Its 2024 acquisition of EPI added online and stadium stores for Italian clubs including Juventus and Inter Milan. Fanatics Live, the company's collectibles arm, bought the French live-commerce platform Voggt in October 2024 and has named France, Germany, and the UK as where it plans to expand next.
None of those announcements name the Netherlands. A search of KNVB and Eredivisie club-shop news turns up other suppliers running those arrangements instead — not a Fanatics deal that fell through, just one that, publicly, was never on the table.
Fanatics in the Netherlands, at a glance:
- Betting regulator: Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), under the Koa framework since April 2021
- Fanatics Betting and Gaming: no KSA license, no application on record
- Fanatics retail: federation/club deals in Germany, France, England, Belgium, Italy — none reported in the Netherlands
- Only disclosed international betting move: a UAE joint venture with Momentum Group, no launch date announced
Is It Safe to Use a Site Claiming to Be Fanatics From the Netherlands?
No. Without a KSA license under the Fanatics name, any site marketing itself that way to Dutch users sits entirely outside the regulator's framework — no CRUKS self-exclusion integration, no licensed deposit tools, and no regulatory recourse if a withdrawal goes wrong.
Who It Fits
Nobody searching for Fanatics specifically from the Netherlands — there is no betting product and, unlike several of its European retail markets, no reported merchandise deal either. Dutch readers want a KSA-licensed sportsbook from the regulator's own list; US and D.C. readers after the real Fanatics Sportsbook should check this site's state pages instead. 18+, and KSA-recognized help resources apply regardless of operator.
