Two different searches land on “Underdog alternative,” and they want opposite things. One is someone whose state doesn’t offer Underdog’s pick-em DFS and wants another app that does the same thing. The other liked betting a moneyline through Underdog Sportsbook and hasn’t noticed it’s gone — Underdog closed that book nationwide in December 2025. Neither reader is well served by a single generic list, so this one splits by what “Underdog” actually meant to them.

Same Format: PrizePicks and Sleeper

If Classic Pick’em or Pick’em Champions isn’t live where you are, PrizePicks is the direct comparison — same pick-em structure, projection lines instead of a moneyline, its own DFS exemption negotiated state by state. Sleeper Picks is the other match: single-game and head-to-head pick-em under the same kind of exemption, with its own separate list of blocked states. Neither app’s availability tracks Underdog’s — a state where Underdog is dark can still run PrizePicks or Sleeper, and the reverse happens too.

Underdog’s own map has two tiers. Classic Pick’em runs under the standard DFS exemption in roughly 15 states; Pick’em Champions is licensed separately, state by state, starting with New Jersey and Delaware in March 2025. A “not available here” result on one doesn’t mean both are blocked.

Wanted the Old Sportsbook? It’s Gone

Underdog ran a licensed real-money sportsbook for a stretch and shut it down entirely in December 2025, settling every open North Carolina wager instead of expanding to more states. There is no Underdog Sportsbook to sign back into. Where a state has actually licensed online sports betting, DraftKings and FanDuel are the real substitutes — a state-issued license and published odds, a different product than pick-em DFS ever was.

Not the Same Thing: Underdog Predict

In July 2026 Underdog launched Predict, a CFTC-licensed prediction-market exchange built on its own Designated Contract Market, Derivatives Clearing Organization, and Futures Commission Merchant registrations. That’s the same regulatory lane as Kalshi, trading event contracts rather than fantasy lineups or sportsbook wagers. It’s not an “alternative” to Underdog’s DFS product so much as a third, separate one under the same company.

Same DFS format: PrizePicks, Sleeper Picks — check their own state list separately.

Wanted the old sportsbook: DraftKings, FanDuel — licensed, only where actually live.

Different product entirely: Kalshi, Underdog Predict — event contracts, not a lineup or a wager.

Check Eligibility Before Funding Anything

None of these products are a way to make money, and each one gates entry by age and state on its own terms — 18+ in most Underdog states, higher in a handful, and a separate floor on every alternative listed here. Confirm the current list on the operator’s own site before assuming an “Underdog alternative” is actually open to you.
